Walking With A Saint – 2010

The scriptures tell us of the incalculable value of even a moment’s association with a true saint and Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja is exalted even among saints. The significance of this particular volume is that it contains the last of his darśanas and instructions, given months prior to his entrance into Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa’s eternal pastimes.

We have transcribed all of the darśanas and are in the process of editing them and checking the sound files.

Śrī Mādhurya-kādambinī

In this book, Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura delineates the stages of bhakti, from śraddhā to prema. His penetrating analysis of each stage helps us understand what is natural and to be expected at each level. His compassionate exposition serves to encourage us and also creates within us a hope that one day we will certainly attain krsna-prema.

We are aware that the assembly of Vaiṣṇavas has been eagerly waiting for the production of this book and regret our not being able publish it yet. This has been due to the demand of several other publication tasks, both English and Hindi. At this point, the book is sixty percent complete. We are doing our best to get it to you as soon as possible.

Ujjvala-nīlamaī

The sole focus of the revered Gauḍīya classic Ujjvala-nīlamaī is ujjvala-rasa, or mādhurya-rasa. It is veritable treasure house of information on Śrī Kṛṣṇa’s loving affairs with His beloved gopīs, elaborately describing their moods, services, identities, pastimes, stimulants of amour, divisions of heroines, types of messengers and so forth.

At this point, eleven of Ujjvala-nīlamaī’s fifteen chapters have been translated. We have organized our team and hopefully by June 2015, the process of editing and fidelity checking this great work will begin.

REPRINTS

Śrī Sakalpa-kalpadruma

The prayers of Śrī Sakalpa-kalpadruma, the desire-tree of auspicious resolve, nourish the mood of becoming a maidservant of the maidservant of the maidservant of Śrīmatī Rādhikā, and only that. Herein, Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura reveals the service he is performing in his mind and the highest aspiration of the Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇavas: to serve Śrī Rādhā and Śrī Kṛṣṇa in Their eightfold daily pastimes.

This book was first published in 2009. This second edition contains minor editorial adjustments, in accordance with our ongoing attempt to improve our delivery of the writings and translations of Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja.

Secret Truths of the Bhāgavatam

This transcription of the lively classes given by Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja in Badger 1999 gives the highest education on the true purpose of Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, its inner meaning, and how to make it relevant to our life. As usual, Śrīla Mahārāja presents such lofty content in such a way that is enthralling and easily comprehensible.

This book was first published in 2000, and currently it is being carefully reviewed and updated according to the GVP standards we have developed over the years. The classes therein are so delightful that we are confident it will be well received by all.

The Distinctive Contribution of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī

Śrī Śrīmad Bhaktivedānta Nārāyaṇa Gosvāmī Mahārāja, whose heart and soul are the teachings of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī, distils the essence of those teachings in this nectarean monograph. From parakīya-bhāvaand bhakti-rasa to the characteristics of uttama-bhakti and prema-bhakti, all are explained and defended.

This booklet was first printed in 2010 and was divided into two parts: half the text was in English, half Hindi. This second printing will be in English only and will also contain the article “Uttamā-bhakti” by Śrīla Bhakti Prajñāna Keśava Gosvāmī Mahārāja, a biography of Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī and two bhajanas about him.
